Our Belief
People can Live Better and improve their life experiences in spite of their circumstances. We have hope for everyone we work with and witness them grow and change as we begin to work together. This is the first step in therapy, being hopeful for something better and working with a professional who believes in your capability to Live Better.
Therapy at Live Better
We are committed to providing quality therapy as well as ethical and comprehensive care to our clients. This means that we keep up with trainings in our field, work on keeping ourselves healthy, maintain a professional yet strong therapeutic relationship with each client and collaborate with your care team as necessary.
Therapy is a process and every client comes to us at different stages in their process. We will meet you where you are and help you grow from there. You can expect sessions to be collaborative and interactive. We encourage open communication and work to create a space that is free of judgment where you can feel comfortable to openly question and explore.
It is no secret- therapy works if you work it.
Research has consistently shown positive outcomes for people who engage in a therapeutic relationship even for a limited amount of time. Therapy can help you understand who you are and help you take control of how you would like to show up in the world. You may find yourself recovering quickly from stressful situations or experiencing emotional states less intensely. The uncomfortable parts about therapy are that you have to go through it. Sometimes revisiting aspects of your life may not feel so good. If you stick with the process, prioritize your weekly appointments, the outcomes are worth the effort and investment.
Do I need to meet for therapy weekly?
At Live Better we believe in doing therapy well. This means that if you are new to your therapist, you would need to consider investing in weekly appointments to set yourself up for therapy success. It takes time to build a therapeutic relationship, it also takes time and weekly observations for your therapist to understand you deeply. This helps them guide you. Once weekly sessions are not warranted, your therapist will discuss this with you. How long you will be in therapy depends on our progress and desired outcomes from the work we plan to do together. This may look different per person. Generally people may expect to be in therapy for at least 3-6 months (12 to 25 sessions). For deeper work you can expect to be in therapy for a year. Prior to ending therapy we will collaborate on a plan to end.
